Brian Daniels is an assistant professor in the Counseling and School Psychology Department who received a PhD in school psychology from Northeastern University. His research focuses on (a) maximizing the feasibility and treatment utility of screening tools for social-emotional and behavior problems, (b) implementing feasible targeted academic and behavioral interventions, and (c) developing and improving methods for monitoring student progress in response to social-emotional and behavioral intervention. Prior to joining the UMass Boston faculty, Daniels served as the project director for an IES-funded grant to develop a web-based system for monitoring student behavior in response to intervention using Direct Behavior Rating (DBR). He also worked as a full-time school psychologist for five years in public schools in Massachusetts and is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP).
