Extra Points: Boston Celtics
After winning the 2024 NBA Championship, the Boston Celtics loaded onto the Duck Boats on Friday, June 21, and began their route on Causeway Street.
Music, confetti, a sea of green, and thousands of screaming fans flooded the streets of Boston to celebrate their recent series victory.
The Celtics easily defeated the Dallas Mavericks in a 4-1 series, in which Jaleyn Brown was named MVP. The last time the Celtics won a title was back in 2008; fans were ecstatic for the Celtics to bring home a trophy after a long 16 years.
Sports are ingrained in the culture of Boston. Some nicknames of The City include ‘Titletown’ or the ‘City of Champions.’ Celebratory parades are no stranger to Boston residents. Fans are always anticipating the next title to add!
