Lingling Zhang's research has focused on health care delivery and services to underserved populations. She has worked with dementia patients and their family caregivers to assess their needs. She has also worked with health providers and low-income patients to design a mobile health system to strengthen their communications. Her current work is centered on technology-enabled health interventions with the aim of promoting access to care and quality of care. She has been working across disciplines and collaborating with scholars globally. The major funded research projects she's leading or co-leading include: mHealth system for remote monitoring of respiratory distress and hypoxia mitigation in COVID-19 patients, diabetes management in chronic care patients and self-management for heart failure patients, mHealth delivered narrative intervention to increase cervical cancer screening among Malawian women living with HIV, quality of emergency care, neighborhood environments and cognitive decline, and mindfulness training for adults with history of depression, substance misuse, or physical inactivity.
