Additional Information

Daniel Norris is a Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist, Certified Orientation Mobility Specialist, and Licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired. He began teaching for UMass Boston in May of 2014, and assumed his program coordinator responsibilities for the Vision Rehabilitation Therapy program in September of that year. 

Daniel is also the supervisor of adult services at the Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and has been with the agency since 2004. He participated in a five-year project with the Vermont Sensory Access Project to become a DeafBlind Consultant. 

Daniel is visually impaired himself, having developed a juvenile form of macular degeneration at the age of eight. As a vision professional and a person with low vision, he has acted as a mentor and role model for many transition-age children in the state of Vermont.
