Sponsorships
In sponsoring UMass Boston for an event or program, you join many local and national corporations, foundations, and other institutions practicing good citizenship by investing in Boston’s public university.
Sponsorship offers the chance to see our mission of teaching and research first-hand and to become acquainted with our faculty and students. It also provides significant community visibility for your organization. We invite your sponsorship of the following university events:
Ongoing Opportunities
- Athletics Sponsorship for our 16 varsity teams, intramurals, and recreation activities for students, faculty and staff.
- WUMB Radio Corporate sponsors support the station's unique programming and reach 75,000+ listeners, including affluent, well-educated community and business leaders, educators, scientists, healthcare providers, and legal professionals. Corporate partners of WUMB receive on-air informational announcements in recognition of their support.
- GoKids Boston Sponsorship of scholarships for urban youth to participate and to learn healthy living to combat obesity.
- Give Us Your Poor: The Campaign to End Homelessness brings together the latest research, multimedia, celebrities, non-celebrities, homeless people, and partner organizations to help end homelessness.
- The Reverend Michael E. Haynes Distinguished Professorship in Urban Studies will develop new research and explore opportunities to engage McCormack Graduate School students in addressing the multiple health, social, and academic challenges specific to the development of urban youth.
Summer 2009
- Camp Shriver, a unique summer camping experience for children both with and without intellectual disabilities, which is a model for inclusive summer camps around the world.
Fall 2009
- Emerging Leaders Program Through the Emerging Leaders Program, young professionals in Greater Boston enhance their individual leadership skills and learn how to work effectively with other young professionals toward significant civic goals. Each fall a group of 'fellows' is chosen for a program involving 12 full day sessions throughout the year on leadership skill building, teamwork, communication, and networking. Participants of the program are diverse in race, ethnicity, and come to us from corporate, non-profit and government sectors. The program stresses collaborative leadership and fosters leadership that is visionary, service-oriented, and inclusive. In October, the Emerging Leaders Program will celebrate the graduation of the fellows with a luncheon. Sponsorship of the luncheon assists fellows from the non-profit sector with scholarships.
