Fair Trade Awareness Day

Come and learn about fair trade, sample fair trade coffee and chocolate, and enter raffles for fair trade products. $1.00 per raffle ticket all proceeds will go to TransFair USA and Coffee Kids.

Fasting for a Purpose

Join us by walking in the shoes of people who experience hunger issues everyday as we will be pledging to fast the entire day. That evening we will break our fast by having a multicultural dinner and listen to a guest speaker talk about hunger issues in Boston.

Habitat for Humanity Work Day

Come build with Habitat for Humanity. 8 Spots are available to Students. Please come by the Office of Student Leadership and Community Engagement (CC 3404) on November 3rd to sign up, sign ups will occur on first come first served basis. We will provide a waiting list to students once the event fills up.

Shoot a basketball for the opportunity to win an IPOD Nano. Donate $1 or give a canned good per shot. The person with the highest score at the end of the day wins. All money will be donated to Pinestreet Inn and canned goods will be donated to the Boston Canned Share.

Documentary Film: “Trouble the Water”

Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, Trouble the Water is directed and produced by Fahrenheit 9/11 and Bowling for Columbine producers Tia Lessin and Carl Deal. The film tells the story of an aspiring rap artist and her streetwise husband, trapped in New Orleans by deadly floodwaters, who survive the storm and then seize a chance for a new beginning. It’s a redemptive tale of self-described street hustlers who become heroes that takes you inside Hurricane Katrina in a way never before seen on screen.

Join us as we host three tournaments: Billiard Team Tournament, Spades Tournament, and Madden 2009 Tournament. All people who enter the tournament must pay $10. Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each tournament. All money will be donated to the Fresh Food Fund – a fund used to purchase fresh food for those in need. Come help package foods on the busiest day of the year for the Red Cross Food Pantry.
