Meet the Staff

The staff of Campus Ministry is available to meet with any member of the UMass Boston community.

Catholic Campus Ministry

Reverend Gerard McKeon SJ

Fr. GerryAt the end of his junior year at Holy Cross College, he went on a five-day retreat at Eastern Point Retreat House in Gloucester, MA. One year later, he responded to the invitation to enter the Society of Jesus in New England on August 31, 1976.

His life in the Jesuits has been blessed in many ways. He spent eight years in Kingston, Jamaica as a campus minister and teacher at St. George's College, and as an educator of catechists, lay leaders, and permanent deacons. Here in the United States, he was blessed to be involved in full-time retreat ministry for two years at Eastern Point Retreat House. His life as a campus minister involved ministry at Holy Cross College for four years, and the University of Connecticut for six years. He currently works for the Archdiocese of Boston in campus ministry at Salem State College and at UMASS Boston.

Jennifer Sparrow

Jennifer graduated with a Masters in Pastoral Theology from Barry University in 2003 (via the Blessed Edmund Rice School for Pastoral Ministry). She also has a B.A. in History from the University of Florida and a Masters in Library and Information Science from Florida State University.  She came to Massachusetts in 2007 to work for the Archdiocese of Boston's Respect Life Education Office and has been with Campus Ministry at UMass since October 2008. She also works as a Campus Minister at Bridgewater State College.

Protestant Campus Ministry

Rev. Adrienne Berry-Burton

Rev. Adrienne Berry-Burton Rev. Adrienne is an ordained minister. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA (1983) and a Master of Divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School, Newton, MA (1997). She continued her studies as a Harvard Divinity School Urban Ministry Fellow (Certificate, 2003).

Rev. Adrienne has been an educator, minister and a professional organizer. Before coming to UMass she worked for Greater Boston Interfaith Organization helping diverse people-of-faith work together as forces for positive social change. She also worked as an Associate Pastor and Minister at Zion Baptist Church, Lynn, MA and as a Youth Organizer with First Lutheran Church, Lynn. MA. She currently serves on the campuses of UMass Boston and Regis College, Weston, MA.

Rev. Adrienne came to UMass in September of 2000. She provides Pastoral Care, a listening ear, prayer, referrals to local Houses of Worship, opportunities for dialog, interactive faith events, and fun fellowship. She also leads Bible study discussions and Meditation.
