Welcome to ECRT Technical Support

ECRT is a state-of-the-art, web-based application for tracking and certifying the effort committed by principal investigators (PI's) to sponsored projects (federal, state, and private) during a specific period time. PI's are required to self-certify their effort and certify the effort of their researchers, or those faculty, staff, and students, who worked on and received payment from the PI's' sponsored projects.   PI's will certify three times a year, once each for the spring, summer, and fall semesters.

Below is the hyperlink to the ECRT user interface. To the left is the link to "How-To Use ECRT to Certify Effort Expended on Research Projects." When you have successfully logged into the ECRT environment, the left menu on the ECRT Welcome page includes links to two certify my effort movies. While these movies do not precisely reflect the UMass Boston interface, both movies provide the necessary context to complement the "How-To" process.

Before attempting to login to ECRT, please check with your unit's effort coordinator (available on the left menu of this page) to ensure that he or she has the opportunity to review and prepare your Effort Cards for certification. Questions on how to navigate in the ECRT environment or difficulties with logging into ECRT should be directed to Bethany Farnham, ECRT central effort administrator, at 617.287.7914 or Ecrt@umb.edu.
