UMass Boston Email and Office 365
Log in with your username which is your full UMass Boston email address including @umb.edu and password, followed by a secondary authentication step for added security. For a step-by-step guide on setting up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), consult the MFA setup documentation.
Unauthorized use is prohibited. Use of this service means you agree to all UMass Boston IT Services policies.
New to UMass?
- Email accounts are created automatically upon enrollment or employment.
- New students must complete their enrollment (e.g. pay their new student deposit) before they can use email.
- New faculty & staff must be active in the HR system before claiming their account.
- If you are new to UMass Boston, you can claim your account online.
About Your UMass Boston Email
- Your UMass Boston email address is how the university notifies you of important information. Check it often! Visit the UMass Boston Email FAQ for more information.
- Webmail includes versions of Microsoft Office apps that can be used online or installed via the web.
- Want something more than webmail? Try the Outlook desktop app! You can also use Apple Mail and Microsoft Outlook to access your account.

- Please Note: Lyris List Manager is discontinued. Use Office 365 Groups for mass mailing, which offers distribution lists, shared calendars, and storage. Non-UMass Boston emails can be added as guests.
